Use company search with jurisdictionCode: "at". Pass a name as companyName or a registration number as companyNumber. companyNumber is read as fnr.

Search notes

• companyNumber accepts a Firmenbuchnummer ("569240v"), a GISA-Zahl (exactly 8 digits) or a ZVR-Zahl (9 or 10 digits) and routes it to the issuing register by its shape. A number typed into companyName is routed the same way. Prefixes and spacing are tolerated: "FN 000187a" is accepted, and "ZVR 730 335 108" and "730335108" are the same query.
• To name the register yourself, send fnr, gisaCode or zvrNumber in an advancedQuery. vereinssitz does not select on its own: send it with name to pin an association-name search to one place, as a plain place name such as "Wien".
• A plain name search goes to the commercial register. To find an association by name, send name with vereinssitz in an advancedQuery. The register of associations returns exactly one association or nothing, and matches from the beginning of the registered name. A complete, correct name can return nothing when other associations' names extend it, so lengthen the query until only one can match: "Naturfreunde Österreich, Landesorganisation Wien" finds its association, while "Naturfreunde" matches hundreds and returns nothing. An umbrella body whose branches all extend its name can only be found by its ZVR-Zahl; a seat does not help when a branch shares it.

Company identifiers

A registration number sent as companyNumber is matched against the searchable schemes below; you do not name the scheme. All of them can appear in a company’s identifiers.

Identifier notes

• The API returns a Firmenbuchnummer (FN) as six zero-padded digits plus the lowercase check letter (e.g. "061689w"). The register's printed extracts, the insolvency gazette and the official gazette usually show it unpadded (e.g. "FN 61689w"), so pad to six digits or strip leading zeros before comparing.
• A branch (Zweigniederlassung/Filiale) has the same FN as its parent company. A result whose name reads like a branch is not a separately reportable company; the parent's record covers it.
• A GISA (trade-licence register) search result for a holder with a Firmenbuch (commercial register) entry has the same kausateId as the Firmenbuch record and carries the FN as a cross-referenced identifier. A GISA-only holder, common for sole traders, has its own kausateId.
• The ZVR-Zahl identifier on an association report also names the responsible Vereinsbehörde (its Landespolizeidirektion or Bezirkshauptmannschaft), the office to approach for anything the extract does not cover, such as the statutes.

Documents you can order

Order a document by its shortcut, for example articles_of_association. A document shown with a code has no shortcut: order it by the code, for example ATGES. The other filings differ per company: call list documents first and order the ID it returns.

Access

Beneficial owners requires your own registry account. Store the credentials through the Integrations API, then send your customer ID with each call.
