How to search
Start with company search and jurisdictionCode: "mc". Pass the name as companyName. Monaco takes no other search criteria.
Examples
{ "jurisdictionCode": "mc", "advancedQuery": { "name": "Société des Bains de Mer" }}Company identifiers
Monaco has no number-based search: find a company by name, then use the kausateId search returns. These schemes label the values that come back in a company’s identifiers.
| Identifier | Appears as | Format |

| Monaco RCI Number Monaco Répertoire du Commerce et de l'Industrie registration number (e.g., 56S00523) | mc_rci_number | ^\d{2}[SCP]\d{5}$ |
Identifier notes
- A Monaco RCI number encodes more than a serial: the first two digits are the year of registration, and the letter that follows — S, C, or P — marks the legal category (Société, Société Civile, or Personne Physique/sole trader). Two numbers differing only in that letter, such as 56S00523 and 56P00523, are different entities of different legal types registered in the same year.
- Some company reports carry a second number, returned as nis — Monaco's statistical identification number for the company's main business establishment, not the company itself. It isn't a substitute for the RCI number: only the RCI number can be used to search for or look up the company.

Gotchas
| Trap | What happens |
|---|---|
| Only Active is in English | Status labels mix languages: only Active returns in English — dissolution, liquidation, definitive strike-off and revocation stay in French. Match on the normalized status for consistency. |
| Officers only for sole traders | Legal representatives appear on the company report only for sole traders. Companies, partnerships and civil companies show no directors, managers or officers at all. |
| Trading name as legal name | For a sole trader, the legal name field returns the trading name, not the personal name — which appears as the legal representative on the same report. |
Glossary
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
RADIATION_DEFINITIVE / Radiation Définitive | The company has been permanently struck off the register — it no longer exists as a going concern. |
EN_DISSOLUTION / En Dissolution | The company is in the formal process of being dissolved. |
EN_LIQUIDATION / En Liquidation | The company is being wound up in liquidation. |
REVOCATION_PRIVATION / Révocation/Privation | The company's registration has been revoked. |
COMMERCANT | The role Monaco records for a sole trader on their own report. French for 'trader' — Kausate translates it to 'Sole Trader'. |
