How to use Kausate in Cyprus — what you can call, which identifiers it uses, and which documents you can order
New to the API? Start with the jurisdictions overview, which explains how ordering, identifiers and documents work everywhere.
Company data here comes directly from Τμήμα Εφόρου Εταιρειών (DRCOR).
What you can call here
What each operation does is the same everywhere and is explained on the jurisdictions overview.

How to search
Start with company search and jurisdictionCode: "cy". Pass the name as companyName. Cyprus takes no other search criteria.
Examples
{ "jurisdictionCode": "cy", "advancedQuery": { "name": "Bank of Cyprus" }}Company identifiers
Cyprus has no number-based search: find a company by name, then use the kausateId search returns. These schemes label the values that come back in a company’s identifiers.
| Identifier | Appears as | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Cyprus Registration Number Cyprus Department of Registrar of Companies registration number | cy_registration_number | ^\d+$ |
Identifier notes
- Cyprus's register keeps separate numbering series for different kinds of entities, each with its own two-letter class prefix as shown on the register's own certificates and extracts — domestic limited companies are numbered under one series (e.g. "ΗΕ 221054"), while overseas companies, partnerships, and registered trade names each have their own independent series with different prefixes (e.g. "ΑΕ", "ΕΕ", "ΣΠ"). Because each series counts independently, the same bare digit sequence can legitimately belong to entities in more than one series — so the plain registration number by itself does not tell you what kind of entity it is; the class prefix does.
Documents you can order
| Document | Order by | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Cyprus DRCOR Register Extract Register extract / Study File for a Cyprus company, rendered from the DRCOR record (legal name, registration number, legal form, status, registered office and officers). The registrar-attested Certified Copy is a separate paid DRCOR product and is not covered by this document. | register_extract | Live |
Documents with a shortcut are ordered directly by that name — for example register_extract.
Local notes
Gotchas
| Trap | What happens |
|---|---|
| Address stays in Greek | Status, legal form and officer roles come back translated into English, but the registered office address stays in Greek — not transliterated or translated like other fields. |
| SE appears as a status | A handful of companies show "Ευρωπαϊκή Εταιρεία" (European Company / SE) in the status field — that's a legal form, not an operating status, so it says nothing about active, closing, or dissolved. |
| Search caps at 200 results | Live-register name search caps at 200 results. A common name may not return every match — narrow your search terms if the company you expect is missing. |
| Trade names are not entities | Registered trade (business) names appear in the same public register as limited companies and partnerships, but a trade name is not a distinct legal-entity type — don't expect it to carry a standardized legal-form classification the way a limited company or partnership does. |
Glossary
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
Εγγεγραμμένη | "Registered" — the company is active and in good standing. |
Διαγραμμένη | "Struck off" — the company has been removed from the register. |
Ευρωπαϊκή Εταιρεία | "European Company (SE)" — this is a legal form (the European public company structure), not an operating status, even though the register occasionally surfaces it in the status field. |
Διευθυντής | "Director" — an officer with management authority over the company. |
Γραμματέας | "Secretary" — the company's statutory secretary. "Βοηθός Γραμματέας" (Assistant Secretary) and "Αναπληρωτής Γραμματέας" (Deputy Secretary) are both variants of the same role. |
Εξουσιοδοτημένο Πρόσωπο | "Authorized Person" — the individual authorized to act on behalf of an overseas (non-Cypriot) company registered in Cyprus. |
Ομόρρυθμος Συνέταιρος / Ετερόρρυθμος Συνέταιρος | "General Partner" and "Limited Partner" respectively, used for partners in entities registered as partnerships. |
