How to search
Start with company search and jurisdictionCode: "im". Pass the name as companyName, a registration number as companyNumber, or both to narrow the result.
Fields
To say exactly what you mean, send an advancedQuery instead. Isle of Man understands these fields:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
name | Company name to search for. |
companyNumber | IoM company number — 6 digits + suffix (C/V/L/F/B/P/M/I). |
Examples
{ "jurisdictionCode": "im", "advancedQuery": { "name": "Bankers Court Management" }}Isle of Man also accepts companyNumber.
Company identifiers
Search by passing the registration number as companyNumber — it is matched against the schemes this register can search on, so you do not name the scheme yourself. Not every scheme below is searchable; the rest label the values returned in a company’s identifiers.
| Identifier | Appears as | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Isle of Man Company Number Isle of Man Companies Registry number — 6 digits followed by a letter suffix indicating the registry: C = 1931 Act, V = 2006 Act, L = LLC, F = 2014 Foreign Company, B = Business Name, P = Limited Partnership, M = Foundation, I = Industrial / Building Society | im_company_number | ^\d{6}[CVLFBPMIcvlfbpmi]$ |
| Isle of Man Business Entity ID Internal numeric registry ID assigned by the IoM Companies Registry | im_business_entity_id | ^\d+$ |
Identifier notes
- A company can carry a second, purely numeric identifier — its Business Entity ID — alongside the company number. It's informational only: company search accepts a name or a company number, never this numeric ID, and its uniqueness on its own is unconfirmed, so treat it as an extra reference value rather than a stable lookup key.

Local notes
Gotchas
| Trap | What happens |
|---|---|
| Foundations have no address | Foundation company reports have no registered address — Foundation summaries never publish one. |
| Charge indicators not structured | The register's yes/no indicators for registered charges, liquidation, and receiver appointment aren't in the structured company report — only top-level status reflects liquidation or receiver appointment. |
Glossary
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
Removed | A status seen only on the Isle of Man branch of a registered Foreign Company. It means that branch's registration on the Isle of Man has ended — it says nothing about whether the company itself, registered elsewhere, still exists. |
