How to search
Start with company search and jurisdictionCode: "lv". Pass the name as companyName, a registration number as companyNumber, or both to narrow the result. Here companyNumber is read as registrationNumber.
Fields
To say exactly what you mean, send an advancedQuery instead. Latvia understands these fields:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
name | Company name to search for. |
registrationNumber | Latvian UR registration number, usually 11 digits. |
vatNumber | Latvian VAT number (LV + registration number). |
Examples
{ "jurisdictionCode": "lv", "advancedQuery": { "registrationNumber": "40003245752" }}Latvia also accepts vatNumber.
Company identifiers
Search by passing the registration number as companyNumber — it is matched against the schemes this register can search on, so you do not name the scheme yourself. Not every scheme below is searchable; the rest label the values returned in a company’s identifiers.
| Identifier | Appears as | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Latvian Registration Number Latvian Enterprise Register (UR) registration number - 11 digits | lv_registration_number | ^\d{11}$ |
| Legacy Enterprise Registry Number | lv_legacy_enterprise_registry_number | No fixed format |
| Legacy Registration Number | lv_legacy_registration_number | No fixed format |
| Taxpayer Registration Number | lv_taxpayer_registration_number | No fixed format |
| UR Entity Code | lv_ur_entity_code | No fixed format |
| Masked Latvian Personal Code Latvian personal code masked by the Enterprise Register; captured exactly as the register prints it | lv_masked_personal_code | No fixed format |
Identifier notes
- The Latvian personal identification code is published in masked form, DDMMYY-*****: the visible prefix gives a person's day, month and two-digit year of birth, but the century digit and the trailing sequence are always redacted. It cannot tell you whether someone was born in the 1900s or 2000s, and on its own is not enough to uniquely identify them — treat it as a partial identifier, not a full one.
Documents you can order
| Document | Order by | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Latvian Document Latvian filing identified by a kausateDocumentId from the document list. | A document ID from the list operation | Live |
| Latvian Register Extract Official Latvian Enterprise Register report PDF covering overview, officers, members/shareholders and beneficial owners, digitally sealed and carrying the registry's 'true and reliable' attestation. | register_extractregister_extract_officialshareholders_list | Live |
Documents with a shortcut are ordered directly by that name — for example register_extract. The rest are filings whose availability differs per company: call list documents first and order the ID it returns.
Local notes
Gotchas
| Trap | What happens |
|---|---|
| One record per ownership type | Indirect beneficial ownership through intermediary companies returns one ownership-interest record per ownership type along the chain, not one per intermediary — intermediaries appear only in that record's descriptive text. |
| Obsolete forms return nothing | About 1,300 long-inactive companies under two obsolete legal forms — most closed decades ago — return no officers or shareholders: a register-side gap, not evidence the data never existed. |
| Depository-held shares unavailable | Publicly-traded joint-stock companies with shares held at the Nasdaq Baltic central securities depository always return shareholders as unavailable — the register doesn't publish ownership data for depository-held shares. |
| Percentage from share count | Ownership percentage is calculated from share count relative to total shares outstanding, not monetary value — reliable even though older companies may still price shares in the pre-2014 currency, lati, rather than euros. |
| Only the consolidated extract downloads | Only the consolidated official register extract is downloadable. Individual filings — annual reports, articles of association, board-meeting minutes — are listed but always fail to download. |
