Company identifiers

Hungary has no number-based search: find a company by name, then use the kausateId search returns. These schemes label the values that come back in a company’s identifiers.

IdentifierAppears asFormat
Hungarian Registration Number
Company registration number (cégjegyzékszám) for Hungarian companies

Central Bank Fund Register Numberhu_central_bank_fund_register_numberNo fixed format

Identifier notes

  • A Hungarian registration number (cégjegyzékszám) is three parts, not one: a two-digit code for the registering court (organised by county), a two-digit code for the company's legal-form category, and a six-digit sequence number, written as XX-XX-XXXXXX. Two numbers sharing the first two segments were registered at the same court under the same category of legal form — only the final six digits tell the companies apart.

Documents you can order

DocumentOrder byStatus
Hungarian Annual Accounts
Annual accounts (Éves beszámoló — Mérleg, eredménykimutatás, kiegészítő melléklet, könyvvizsgálói jelentés) as filed with the Hungarian Ministry of Justice Electronic Annual Reports portal. Pass a kausateDocumentId to fetch a specific filing, or use the document code or the annual_accounts shortcut alone to fetch the most recent annual accounts.

Documents with a shortcut are ordered directly by that name — for example annual_accounts.

Gotchas

TrapWhat happens
Private share registers errorShareholder graph requests for Zrt., Nyrt., Rt. or SE companies return an error, not an empty list — these forms' share registers are private by law. Check the legal form first.
Percentages usually withheldWhere a shareholder graph is returned, exact ownership percentages usually aren't published — only identities. A flagged qualified-majority or majority-influence holding shows as 50%, a floor, not the true percentage.
Sole trader owns 100%For a sole trader (egyéni vállalkozó), the shareholder graph lists the trader as sole 100% owner — no distinct owner exists in the register.
Signing authority not distinguishedThe normalized officer role doesn't distinguish sole from joint signing authority — both map to the same value. Read the original role text or its English translation instead.
Accounts may arrive as a bundleAnnual-accounts documents aren't always one PDF: native PDF attachments merge into one, but a filing with anything else — e.g. a listed company's digital reporting package — comes back as a ZIP of the original files. Check the file type.
Period data without figuresSome fiscal periods return only period-level data — dates, whether audited, whether consolidated, employee count — with no balance-sheet or income-statement figures. This is normal for pre-digital-reporting filings and certain listed-issuer cover filings, not a failed extraction.
