Company identifiers
companyNumber is not supported for Uruguay. These schemes appear in a company’s identifiers.
| Identifier | Type | Format |

| Uruguay RUT Registro Único Tributario: the 12-digit DGI tax number of a Uruguayan company or sole trader, ending in a mod-11 check digit. | uy_rut | ^\d{12}$ |
Identifier notes
- The RUT is 12 digits ending in a mod-11 check digit. It is issued to companies and to individuals trading on their own account alike, so it does not tell you whether the holder is a legal person.
Local notes
Gotchas
| Topic | Details |
|---|---|
| Legal form | The register has no legal-form field. The legal form is read from the company name (S.A., S.R.L., Ltda., S.A.S., Cooperativa …) and is absent for individuals and for branches of foreign companies. |
Glossary
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
ACTIVO | The supplier registration is validated and the taxpayer is active. |
EN INGRESO | The supplier registration is under review. It describes the supplier file, not the company, so no normalized status is given. |
BAJA DGI | Removed because the tax authority (DGI) deregistered the RUT. |
BAJA VOLUNTARIA | The business withdrew from the supplier register. Nothing follows about the company itself. |
