Company data here comes directly from Wyoming Secretary of State.
One of the jurisdictions under United States, whose page lists the others and covers the national register separately.
What you can call here
What each operation does is the same everywhere and is explained on the jurisdictions overview.

How to search
Start with company search and jurisdictionCode: "us-wy". Pass the name as companyName, a registration number as companyNumber, or both to narrow the result. Here companyNumber is read as filingId.
Fields
To say exactly what you mean, send an advancedQuery instead. Wyoming (US) understands these fields:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
name | Entity name to search for. |
filingId | Wyoming Filing ID (format YYYY-NNNNNNNNN, e.g. 2018-000796303). |
Examples
{ "jurisdictionCode": "us-wy", "advancedQuery": { "filingId": "2018-000796303" }}Company identifiers
Search by passing the registration number as companyNumber — it is matched against the schemes this register can search on, so you do not name the scheme yourself. Not every scheme below is searchable; the rest label the values returned in a company’s identifiers.
| Identifier | Appears as | Format |
|---|---|---|
| WY Filing ID Wyoming Secretary of State Filing ID (e.g. 2018-000796303) — the public identifier assigned to every business filing in the Wyoming Business Center. The year-prefixed number is stable and searchable. | us_wy_filing_id | ^[0-9]{4}-[0-9]{6,}$ |
Identifier notes
- A Wyoming Filing ID (`YYYY-NNNNNNNNN`) does not by itself tell you whether a record is a real business entity or just a name registration — a Trade Name, Trademark, or Service Mark filing gets a Filing ID in the exact same format as an LLC or corporation. To tell them apart, check the legal-form field on the report: real entities resolve to a recognized legal form and category, while name registrations come back with only a label like "Trade Name" and no standardized legal-form code.
Documents you can order
| Document | Status |
|---|---|
| US-WY Document Document retrieval for Wyoming entities from the Wyoming Secretary of State. Returns the imaged filing PDF (annual reports, formation documents, amendments, agent changes) listed in the entity's filing history. | Live |
These are filings whose availability differs per company: call list documents first and order the ID it returns.
Local notes
Gotchas
| Trap | What happens |
|---|---|
| Anonymous LLCs show only an agent | The anonymous-LLC law means an LLC's company report shows only a registered agent — no members, managers, or owners, by design. Corporations, by contrast, publish named officers (e.g. a President). |
| Filing ID can return a trademark | A Filing ID lookup can return a Trade Name, Trademark, or Service Mark registration instead of a company — these have no legal form, officers, or registered agent. Check the legal-form value first. |
Glossary
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
Trade Name / Trademark / Service Mark / Mark | A name registration filed with the Wyoming Secretary of State, not a company. It has no owners, officers, registered agent, or legal form of its own — a report for one of these comes back with little more than the name and its status. |
Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) | A Wyoming-specific statutory LLC subtype for blockchain/DAO-governed organizations. It is treated as an ordinary LLC — same legal-form category and identifier shape as any other Wyoming LLC — so filtering for LLCs will also pick up DAOs. |
(Tax) / (No Agent) / (Other) | Reason codes Wyoming appends to an inactive/dissolved status, e.g. "Inactive - Administratively Dissolved (Tax)". They indicate why the entity fell out of good standing: unpaid state license tax, loss of its registered agent, or another administrative compliance failure. |
