registrationNumber | Registrar General registration number (C841033, or 841033-2 as the gazette prints it) or IBC number (41276). An IBC number the FSA does not list as struck off is either an active IBC or was never issued. |
foundationNumber | FSA foundation number, e.g. 000681. |
Examples
{ "jurisdictionCode": "sc", "advancedQuery": { "name": "SEYCHELLES BREWERIES" }}Other accepted values: 41276.
Other accepted field combinations: registrationNumber and foundationNumber.
Search notes
- A name search matches anywhere in the name. It covers domestic companies and business names, and the IBCs and foundations that have been struck off, dissolved or named in the Official Gazette. A very common word (for example LIMITED) matches too many entries for the register to answer; search a more specific name.
- A registration number that is all digits is searched as an IBC number. The FSA publishes only IBCs that were struck off or dissolved: no result for an IBC number means the IBC is active or the number was never issued, never that the company does not exist.
Company identifiers
A registration number sent as companyNumber is matched against the searchable schemes below; you do not name the scheme. All of them can appear in a company’s identifiers.
| Identifier | Type | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Seychelles Business Registry Number Registration number the Registrar General assigns a domestic entity: a class letter (C company, B business name, A association, S statutory body, G government body) and six or seven digits, e.g. C849263. Gazette notices under the Companies Act 1972 write a company's number as 849263-2. | sc_business_registry_number | ^[ABCGS][0-9]{6,7}$ |
| Seychelles IBC Number Number the Financial Services Authority assigns an International Business Company, issued sequentially from 1. Unique among IBCs; foundations and domestic companies are numbered separately. | sc_fsa_company_number | ^[1-9][0-9]{0,6}$ |
| Seychelles Foundation Number Number the Financial Services Authority assigns a foundation registered under the Foundations Act 2009, written with leading zeros, e.g. 000681. Unique among foundations only. | sc_fsa_foundation_number | ^[0-9]{6}$ |
Identifier notes
- Seychelles has three separate number series. Domestic companies, business names and associations carry a Registrar General number with a class letter (C company, B business name, A association), e.g. C841033. International Business Companies (IBCs) carry an FSA number, e.g. 41276, and foundations a separate six-digit FSA number, e.g. 000681. The same digits can identify an IBC and a foundation.
- Gazette notices under the Companies Act 1972 print a domestic company's number as 841033-2: the register number plus a class digit. It is the same company as C841033, and either form is accepted as a registration number.
Local notes
Gotchas
| Topic | Details |
|---|---|
| Active IBCs are not public | Most IBCs are active and are visible only to their registered agents. An active IBC is found only when the Official Gazette has named it in a strike-off or winding-up notice, or it holds an LEI. |
| Status comes from notices | No Seychelles register publishes a status. An IBC's status comes from the FSA's struck-off register, other statuses from Official Gazette notices since 2020. An entity named in no notice has no status, which does not mean it is active. During a strike-off notice period the status is closing. |
| Basic data only | Reports carry the name, number, entity type, a coarse industry for domestic entities, and status with the notices behind it. Addresses, officers, shareholders and documents are not published. |
