How to search
Start with company search and jurisdictionCode: "jo". Pass the name as companyName, a registration number as companyNumber, or both to narrow the result. Here companyNumber is read as nationalEstablishmentNumber.
Fields
To say exactly what you mean, send an advancedQuery instead. Jordan understands these fields:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
name | Company name fragment (Arabic). |
nationalEstablishmentNumber | Jordan 9-digit national establishment number. |
Examples
{ "jurisdictionCode": "jo", "advancedQuery": { "name": "البوتاس العربية" }}Jordan also accepts nationalEstablishmentNumber.
Company identifiers
Search by passing the registration number as companyNumber — it is matched against the schemes this register can search on, so you do not name the scheme yourself. Not every scheme below is searchable; the rest label the values returned in a company’s identifiers.
| Identifier | Appears as | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Jordan National Establishment Number Jordan Companies Control Department (CCD) national establishment number (الرقم الوطني للمنشأة) — 9-digit numeric identifier (e.g. 200000529). Unique across all entity types. | jo_national_establishment_number | ^\d{9}$ |
| Jordan Registration Number Jordan CCD per-type registration number (رقم الشركة), e.g. 27 for Arab Potash. Not unique across company types — pair with the company type to disambiguate. | jo_registration_number | ^\d+$ |

Gotchas
| Trap | What happens |
|---|---|
| Public companies list no shareholders | A public shareholding company's shareholder list is empty — its shares trade through Jordan's Securities Depository Center rather than being recorded by name at the registry. |
| Percentage needs total capital | Ownership percentage is calculated by dividing the registry's nominal share amount by total capital, so it's absent whenever total capital isn't on file. |
| Every holder typed as a person | Every shareholder is typed as a natural person, even when the holder is a company — the registry doesn't distinguish individual from corporate holders, so a parent company appears as a person record under its company name. |
| Nationality maps only for common words | Nationality maps to an ISO code only for common words (Jordanian, Saudi, Egyptian, Iraqi, Syrian, Lebanese, Palestinian, and about a dozen others) — otherwise you get the raw Arabic word. |
| Auditor sits with the directors | The related-people list can include the external auditor alongside directors and the general manager — filter on role for board members or management only. |
| Older companies lack some sections | A missing mortgage status, seizure status, auditor, or last-filed-financial-year doesn't mean the fetch failed — some older companies aren't covered by that part of the registry; the rest of the report is unaffected. |
| Many types have no ELF code | About half of Jordan's company types — including foreign branches, civil companies, exempt companies, and joint Arab or joint-investment companies — have no internationally standardized legal-form code. Expect the original Arabic legal-form text with no normalized code for these; the more common forms (public shareholding company, LLC, and the partnership types) do get one. |
| Capital is one of four figures | The capital figure is a single value: current registered capital when available, else capital at incorporation (LLC only), then subscribed amount, then authorized amount — the response doesn't say which one it is. |
| Arabic-only register | The registry is Arabic-only. Kausate translates legal form, status, officer roles, and governorate into English; legal name, address, business-activity descriptions, and free-text notes (mortgage/seizure status, auditor name) stay in Arabic. |
