How to use Kausate in China — what you can call, which identifiers it uses, and which documents you can order
New to the API? Start with the jurisdictions overview, which explains how ordering, identifiers and documents work everywhere.
Company data here comes directly from 信用中国 (Credit China).
What you can call here
What each operation does is the same everywhere and is explained on the jurisdictions overview.

What a report looks like
A real company report from China, as the result of a completed order. Which fields carry values varies by company.
How to search
Start with company search and jurisdictionCode: "cn". Pass the name as companyName or a registration number as companyNumber — here both resolve to the same field, so sending them together does not narrow anything.
Examples
{ "jurisdictionCode": "cn", "advancedQuery": { "name": "中国石油化工" }}The same query also matches 91110000710926094P.
Company identifiers
Search by passing the registration number as companyNumber — it is matched against the schemes this register can search on, so you do not name the scheme yourself. Not every scheme below is searchable; the rest label the values returned in a company’s identifiers.
| Identifier | Appears as | Example | Format |
|---|---|---|---|
| China Unified Social Credit Code (USCC) China Unified Social Credit Code (统一社会信用代码), 18-character alphanumeric per GB 32100-2015 | cn_uscc | 91110000710926094P | ^[0-9A-HJ-NP-RTUWXY]{2}\d{6}[0-9A-HJ-NP-RTUWXY]{10}$ |
| Legacy Business Registration Number | cn_legacy_business_registration_number | — | No fixed format |
Identifier notes
- The Unified Social Credit Code (USCC) is a composite, not an arbitrary serial number: it concatenates a 1-digit registering-authority code, a 1-digit entity-category code, a 6-digit administrative-division code, a 9-character entity sequence, and a 1-digit check character into its 18 total characters.
- The first character of the USCC identifies which of three separate government bodies holds the underlying record — the market regulation authority (prefix 9), civil affairs (prefix 5), or the central government's establishment office (prefix 1) — and that authority, not the company's size, determines which report fields can ever be populated (for example, registered capital and business scope).
Documents you can order
| Document | Order by | Status |
|---|---|---|
| China Credit Information Report (信用信息报告) Official Credit Information Report PDF (信用信息报告) issued by the National Public Credit and Geospatial Information Center, covering basic registration information plus administrative licences, credit commitments, and any breaches on record. | register_extractregister_extract_official | Live |
Documents with a shortcut are ordered directly by that name — for example register_extract.

Gotchas
| Trap | What happens |
|---|---|
| One person only | The company report includes exactly one individual — the legal representative's full name. No shareholder list, board of directors, or other officers. |
| Capital and scope depend on prefix | Registered capital appears only for prefix-1 (central establishment office) entities; business scope only for prefix-5 (civil affairs) or prefix-1 entities. Ordinary commercial companies (prefix 9) — the majority — get null on both, regardless of size. |
| Chinese names only | Company names are Chinese only — no English name field in reports or search results, however internationally known the company is. |
| Branches appear in search | Name search can return branch offices alongside the parent. A branch's report has no legal-form category and no shareholders or capital — the tell versus the parent. |
| ELF code often empty | The standardized legal-form code (ISO 20275 / GLEIF ELF) comes back empty for this jurisdiction's most common company types — ordinary limited-liability companies, joint-stock companies, and wholly state-owned companies. That's expected: GLEIF has no such code for these forms, so an empty value here does not mean the data failed to resolve. |
Glossary
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
存续 | Active and continuing to operate — used for ordinary commercial enterprises. |
正常 | Active/normal — used for non-commercial entities such as public institutions, associations, and foundations, where 存续 does not apply. |
注销 / 已注销 | The entity has been deregistered — its registration was closed through the ordinary cancellation process, as distinct from a revocation (see 吊销). |
吊销 / 已吊销 | The entity's registration was revoked by the authorities (its license was pulled) — a distinct legal event from an ordinary deregistration, even though both leave the entity closed. |
迁出 | The entity's registration was migrated or transferred out. |
清算 | The entity is in liquidation (winding up). |
法定代表人 | "Legal representative" — the one officer role this register publishes for a company: the individual with legal authority to act on its behalf. There is no director, shareholder, or manager list. |
分公司 | "Branch office" — a location of a larger company. It has no separate legal personality and no shareholders or capital of its own, and it appears in search results and reports as its own entity rather than folded into the parent. |
