Start with company search and jurisdictionCode: "ca-nl". Pass the name as companyName, a registration number as companyNumber, or both to narrow the result.

Fields

To say exactly what you mean, send an advancedQuery instead. Newfoundland and Labrador (CA) understands these fields:

FieldWhat it does
nameCompany name keywords. CADO matches the beginning of each word in the company name and appends a wildcard, so 'QUIDI' matches 'QUIDI VIDI BREWING COMPANY LTD.'. Up to two space-separated keywords are AND-ed; punctuation is ignored by the register. A query matching more than 300 companies is refused rather than truncated — narrow it instead.
companyNumberCADO company number, including any letter suffix — '81254', '158D', '119CM' (Condominium), '410C' (Co-operative). The suffix is part of the identifier: 158 and 158D are different companies.

Newfoundland and Labrador (CA) also accepts companyNumber.

Company identifiers

Search by passing the registration number as companyNumber — it is matched against the schemes this register can search on, so you do not name the scheme yourself. Not every scheme below is searchable; the rest label the values returned in a company’s identifiers.

NL Company Number
Newfoundland and Labrador CADO company number — the 'Company Number' the Registry of Companies prints on every detail page (e.g. '81254', '158D', '119CM', '410C'). It is the register's own primary key and is unique: the number search matches the numeric part exactly and redirects straight to a detail page whenever exactly one company carries it. The numeric part runs 1..101,542 and is ~99.7% dense. The letter suffix is part of the identifier, not decoration — 158, 158D, 158F and 158I are four different companies — so it must never be stripped. C and CM are separate short sequences (Co-operatives and Condominiums); D=Dominion, F=Foreign, I=Insurance, M=Domestic, and A/AD/AF are undocumented legacy VAX suffixes.
