How to search
Start with company search and jurisdictionCode: "mm". Pass the name as companyName. Myanmar takes no other search criteria.
Examples
{ "jurisdictionCode": "mm", "advancedQuery": { "name": "Kanbawza" }}The same query also matches 137084031.
Search notes
- Searching by name or registration number also returns companies still registered under the old 1914 Companies Act that never re-registered under the 2017 Companies Law — the register does not filter these out. A newly-submitted registration that has not yet been approved, by contrast, is always excluded from search results and cannot be surfaced by any query.
- A Myanmar-script company name only reliably matches when it is copied verbatim from a prior MyCO result. The register does no Unicode normalization of Myanmar text, so a name typed on a phone or IME keyboard (which normally produces NFC-normalized text) can fail to match a company that legitimately exists in the register, simply because the register stored the name in a different underlying byte form.
Company identifiers
Myanmar has no number-based search: find a company by name, then use the kausateId search returns. These schemes label the values that come back in a company’s identifiers.
| Identifier | Appears as | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Myanmar MyCO Corp ID MyCO internal company GUID. The sole component of the Myanmar kausate_id — a re-registered entity's registration number is not stable between lookups, so it must not participate in identity. | mm_corp_id | ^[0-9a-fA-F]{8}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{12}$ |
| Myanmar Registration Number MyCO registration number - 9 digits for entities registered under the Myanmar Companies Law 2017. Entities that never re-registered carry only a legacy Companies Act 1914 number such as 887/2012-2013. | mm_registration_number | ^(?:\d{9}|\d+[A-Z]{0,3}\/\d{4}-\d{4}(?:\([A-Z]{2,4}\))?)$ |
Identifier notes
- Myanmar's registration number is not reported consistently by the register: for a company still registered under the 1914 Companies Act, the number can appear in a legacy format such as 887/2012-2013 in one place and come back blank for that same company elsewhere. The Corp ID is the identifier the register reports consistently, so use it — not the registration number — as the stable reference to a specific company, and treat the registration number as informational only.

Gotchas
| Trap | What happens |
|---|---|
| Capital is currency only | The capital field, when populated, carries only the share currency — never an amount; the register doesn't publish that publicly. Currency isn't always MMK (USD occurs), and no field anywhere reports total share count. |
| No registered address | Registered address is never returned on any endpoint (search or full report), for any company — always empty, not a per-company gap. |
| Prior names only in search | Prior/historical company names appear only in live search results, not the full report — which carries over only the Myanmar-script name (if any), dropping prior names. |
| Activities deduplicated by division | Business activities are deduplicated to one entry per industry division — if several fall under the same division, only the first is kept. None is ever marked primary, since the register itself never flags a principal activity. |
Glossary
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
Not Yet Re-Registered | The company was registered under Myanmar's 1914 Companies Act and has not migrated to the 2017 Companies Law. It still legally exists, but it is not in good standing and is at risk of being struck off. |
Struck-Off | The company has been administratively removed from the register (for example for failing to file), rather than closed through a formal liquidation. |
Void | The company's registration has been voided outright, treating it as though the registration never validly took effect. |
In Receivership | A receiver has been appointed over the company's assets — typically because a secured creditor has stepped in — a distinct stage from formal liquidation. |
In Rehabilitation | The company is going through a formal, court-supervised rehabilitation process aimed at restructuring the business rather than winding it up. |
Company Limited by Guarantee (Association) | A Myanmar legal form for membership or nonprofit-style entities formed as associations, distinct from an ordinary company limited by shares. |
